Origin of Kung Fu and Chinese Martial Arts Chinese The legend says that Boddha , known as Random knowledge (Damo), was the founder of Chan (Zen) Buddhism and founder of Kung Fu. He traveled from India to China around 527 AD and is said to have visited the Shaolin monks in the province of Henan.
